Who owns the copyright?

EPrints is copyright University of Southampton. For convenience some Perl libraries are bundled and are the copyright of their respective authors (files under perl_lib/ excluding perl_lib/EPrints).

What is the license?

Before EPrints version 3.3 all University of Southampton-copyright files are GPLv2 or GPLv3.

In EPrints 3.3 and later binary files (bin/ cgi/) are released under GPLv3 and all other files under LGPLv3.

Will you release under other Licenses?

We have the option, but currently have no reason to. Contact us if you need a copy under a different licences.
