A number of digital repositories are seeking to exemplify the practices and processes necessary to manage content effectively, safely and cost-effectively for longer-term access and use. All use EPrints and between them manage a wide range of content types - science data, arts, teaching and learning, as well as open access research papers - that might be found in the typical institutional repository of the future.
KeepIt project
This work is being taken forward in the JISC KeepIt project. There are two aspects to the work: training and support for repository managers and administrative staff, and technical development of tools and services to support the requirements identified by the repositories and through training.
It is part of a range of activities to support effective Digital preservation of content managed with EPrints repository software.
While this is a work in progress, this area is used by project partners as a collaborative workspace to develop a range of supporting materials, and to describe progress with new tools.
